Paul Stura was born and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduating
from the University of Pittsburgh where he studied business,
art and merchandising, he worked briefly in retail and later
as an accessories buyer. It was during this time that he discovered
his talent for fashion styling and decided to make it a full-time
career. The choice proved to be a great success and he went
on to style a number of successful magazine editorials for
Details, i-D, W, L’Uomo
Vogue, Vogue Hommes International, V,
V Man, Arena, Ten, Flair,
Spanish Vogue, Italian Glamour and Vitals
(celebrity covers).
Over the years Paul has worked with some of the most noted
photographers in fashion, among them Michael Thompson, Nathaniel
Goldberg, Patrick Demarchelier, Tim Walker, Thomas Schenk,
Terry Tsiolis, Paolo Roversi, Tom Munro, Regan Cameron, Terry
Richardson, Doug Inglish, Phil Poynter, Jenny Gage & Tom
Betterton, Alexei Hay, Anders Overgaard and long-time friend
Carter Smith with whom he collaborated on the short film BUGCRUSH
- winner of the Grand Jury Prize in Short Film Making at the
2006 Sundance Film Festival.
Paul is a talented consultant and fashion show stylist working
on in-house collection presentations for Unis menswear (spring
and fall 2008), A/X Armani Exchange, CK Jeans and Levi’s,
as well as styling runway shows over multiple seasons for
designers such as Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino menswear, Perry
Ellis and Vivienne Tam.
In addition to his editorial work Paul has styled advertising
campaigns for DKNY, Kenneth Cole Reaction, Nautica, Banana
Republic, Perry Ellis, A/X Armani Exchange, GAP, Levi’s
Tommy Hilfiger, Cover Girl, Clairol, Biologe, Bloomingdale’s,
Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Hush Puppies and Payless
Shoe Source.
Paul’s skill as a menswear stylist is apparent in the
list of celebrities with whom he has worked including Justin
Timberlake, Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey, Heath Ledger,
Orlando Bloom, Adrienne Brody, Vin Diesel, Ethan Hawke, Colin
Farrell, Tobey Maguire, Owen Wilson, Patrick Dempsey, Josh
Hartnett, Daniel Craig, Kevin Federline, and Lou Taylor Pucci.
Of course the women love his work too and he has styled actresses
Ellen Page and Christina Ricci.
