NEW YORK - Ting Ting Lin, the New York Fashion Director of
West/East Magazine, was born and raised in Taiwan. She began
learning traditional Chinese dance and classical ballet at
age five. Twirling around her mother’s dance studio,
lost in the gigantic mirrors that surrounded her, she became
certain she wished to become a dancer, and indeed spent many
years doing just that. She vividly remembers nightly outings
in the 80’s experimenting with full dance costumes,
heavy make-up and big hair with a camera always ready to capture
the moments. It was on these outings that people she met and
their unique style began to inspire the stylist in her. In
1997 Ting Ting relocated to New York City where her transition from dancer
to stylist gained momentum while her portfolio quickly expanded.
Since then she has worked with an impressive list of fashion
photographers, among them, Kenneth Willardt, Matt Jones, Torkil Gudnason,
Sante D'Orazio, Nicolas Moore, Diego Uchitel, Guy Aroch, David
Ferrua, Ben Watts, Dennis Golonka, Gray Scott, Caroline Knopf,
Fernando Milani, Arthur Belebeau, Tiziano Magni, Greg Delves
and Robert Maxwell.
Ting Ting has styled advertising campaigns for Target, Oil
of OLAY, L'Oreal Matrix, Gap.com, Sephora, Revlon, Motorola
and Moga
as well as TV commercials for Nike, Sony Cyber Shot and SK-II. In addition she has worked with cosmetic giant M.A.C.
to style their look books, in-store videos and special global
events.
Ting Ting Lin is currently based in New York.
