Ed Moelands was born in
the Netherlands and studied art, graphic design and advertising
before channeling his interests in hair styling. After his studies
he moved to Antwerp, Belgium where he was greatly inspired by the
city’s rich cultural and social scene. It was there where
he first began his career as a hair stylist, enrolling in a school
of the trade. Shortly thereafter, he assisted a number of world-renowned
hair stylists and eventually moved to Paris in 1996 to begin his
own freelance career.
Ed still has the pleasure of working with photographers such as
Peter Lindbergh, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Miles Aldridge, Koto Bolofo,
Satoshi, Sophie Delaporte, Greg Kadel, John Ackehurst, Steve Hiett,
Michel Momy, Cédric Buchet, Enrique Badulescu, Phil Pointer,
Jerôme Esch, Sam Haskins, Luciana Val & Franco Musso,
Alex Cayley, Anushka Blommers & Niels Schumm, Marc Hôm,
David Slijper, Maciek Kobielski, David Vasiljevic, Paulo Sutch,
Carter Smith, Fredéric Auerbach and Jon Compson.

Ed has directed the hair styling team for various fashion shows,
such as Christian Lacroix, Sharon Wauchob, Tim Van Steenbergen,
Christian Wijnants, André Walker and Stefan Schnijder. He
continues to execute his artistic vision at the shows of Cacharel,
Véronique Leroy and Exté.
Ed’s talent can also be seen in a number of advertising campaigns:
