Serge Normant is undeniably
one of the leading hairstylists in the fashion industry today.
Harper's Bazaar, W, Allure, and Vogue regularly
book Normant for cover sittings and fashion and beauty stories.
He has worked with some of the most respected photographers in
the industry, including Richard Avedon, Michael Thompson, Patrick
Demarchelier, Steven Meisel, Herb Ritts, Craig McDean, Irving
Penn, James Moore, Gilles Benismon, Annie Lebovitz, Matthew Rolston
and Satoshi Saikusa.
Serge began his career in Paris at the Bruno Pittini Salon, and
after much success he moved to New York to pursue freelance work.
He has worked with an extensive range of advertising clients,
including Chanel, Estée Lauder, Clairol, L'Oreal, Revlon, Neutrogena,
Lancome, Pantene, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Celine,
and Yves Saint Laurent. He has led the hairstyling teams for the
fashion shows of designers such as Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Christian
Lacroix, Joop!, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera and Donna
Karan.
In addition, he works regularly on celebrities such as Julia Roberts,
Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Isabella
Rossellini, Kate Hudson, Heather Locklear, Faith Hill, and Elizabeth
Hurley.
Serge Normant has recently published his second book Metamorphosis
(2004) in which he transforms the looks of well-known actresses
and models from the contemporary to the extraordinary.
His first book, Femme Fatale (2001) examines hairstyling
throughout the 20th century.
Serge Normant currently resides in New York.
