Tomo Jidai was born in Tokyo, Japan. In 1996 Tomo moved to London
to study at the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Academy. It was just three
years later in 1999 when Tomo was requested to work for his first
editorial shoot with renowned photographer Magnus Unnar and leading
fashion stylist Nicola Formachetti for Dazed & Confused magazine.
Tomo likes to take his inspiration from a mix of everyday people
and cultures. He describes his style as unique, progressive, edgy
and modern.
Tomo's work can be regularly seen in the following magazines: Dazed & Confused, i-D, Another Magazine, Another Man, Arena Homme +, 10 Magazine, V-Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar US, Vogue, Vogue Homme Japan and Numéro.
Tomo has the pleasure of working with photographers such as Laurence Passera, Josh Olins, Magnus Unnar, Richard Bush, William Selden, Takay, Benjamin, Alexander Huseby, Martina Hoogland Ivanow, Mariano Vivanco, David Slijper, Phil Poynter, Laurie Bartley, Solve Sundsbo, Andreas Larsson and Oliverio Toscani.
His advertising clients include Prada, D&G, Hugo Boss, Paul Smith, Alexander McQueen, Hussien Chalyan, H&M, Uniqlo, Top Man, Boots No7, Lee Jeans, Levis, Stussy and Puma.
Tomo is currently based in the UK and divides his time between
London, Paris and New York. |
