Upon completion of her course at the London College of Fashion, Maxine began working at Shu Uemura. Within months she showed her individual strengths and talent by winning a UK competition which ultimately lead her to represent the Shu Uemura brand in an international competition held in Paris.

After winning a second competition in the UK, Maxine was requested to travel to Japan and become part of the Shu Uemura Artistic Team. This is where she learnt the philosophy and ethos of the brand. During this period Maxine lead seminars on stage demonstrating looks that she and the team had created. The time Maxine spent in Japan was to be invaluable whilst giving her an insight into the cosmetic industry that few session make-up artists ever get the opportunity to experience.

Although Maxine soon began to work on her own editorials and test shoots she dedicated her time to assist Dick Page and Lisa Butler. She worked on their shows, advertising shoots and magazine editorials.

Since going solo Maxine has directed her make up team for various international fashion shows including; Hugo Boss, (LA, Hong Kong, Germany, Amsterdam), Karen Walker NY, Reem Acra NY, Just Cavali Milan, Tse Cashmere NY, Peter Jenson and Boyd in London.

Her work can be seen on the covers and pages of various magazines such as Vogue (British, French, German, Japanese and Chinese), i-D, Wonderland, Man About Town, Dazed And Confused and V Magazine.

In addition, Maxine works regularly on celebrities such as Demi Moore, Jennifer Anniston, Evan Raches Wood, Eva Mendes, Megan Fox, Lucy Liu, Yasmin Le Bon, Lou Doillon, Kiera Knightley, Claudia Schiffer and Lily Allen.

Advertising clients include Hugo Fragrance, Harry Winston, Exte, 360 BEAUTY, Levis and Nike.

Maxine is the Beauty Editor of Wonderland magazine.

Maxine is currently based in London.
