Born and raised in Germany with an American father, Steven Canavan was fascinated by the fashion world from a very early age and started his artistic education at an art school to get in touch with the feelings of colors, drawings and painting and then attended a make up school.

While assisting international make up artists, Steven decided to move to Paris.

Ever since he developed a fresh approach to feminine beauty starting with gorgeous, flawless skin, creative strong details and minimal glamour.

This keen sensibility allowed Canavan to work with photographers such as Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer, Jem Mitchell, Karim Sadli, Adam Whitehead, Daniel Gabbay, Olaf Wipperfurth and Carlotta Manaigo.

His editorial work can be seen in Vogue (French and German), Flair, Muse, Velvet, Dazed & Confused just to name a few.

Steven has also worked with celebrities such as Diane Kruger, Clemence Poesy, Maggie Cheung, Emmanuele Seigner, Asia Argento, Gabriella Wright, Ludivine Seigner, Melanie Laurent and Elettra Rossellini.

Steven’s talent can also be seen in a number of advertising campaigns including Celine, Louis Vuitton, Kristina T, Scherrer, Azzaro, Franck et Fils, Janet & Janet, New Man and Caudalie.

Steven shares his time between Paris and New York.
