Miami born photographer Alexei Hay was raised between New York and Tehran. The Brown alum got his start assisting photographers Philip Lorca DiCorcia and Albert Watson while working as a color printer.
Since first cutting his teeth on photo assignments for Time Out New York, Hay has gone on to work for magazines such as Vanity Fair, Details, Purple and The New York Times Magazine. He has also been commissioned to shoot campaigns for Gucci, Celine, Sonia Rykiel, Diane von Furstenberg and Volkswagen.
Alexei has built a comprehensive list of celebrity clients over the years, including the likes of Prince, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, 50 Cent, Sienna Miller, Donatella Versace, Perry Farrell, Natalie Portman, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kirsten Dunst, Mariah Carey, Robert Duvall, Charlotte Gainsbourg, John Waters, Janet Jackson, Tom Ford, Bjork, David Bowie, Benicio del Toro, Robert Smith and Dennis Hopper.
Hay has tried his hand at war correspondence and worked with the pioneers of panoramic technology, the Globus Brothers, on building new types of cameras with esoteric applications.
He currently resides in New York.
