Thomas Whiteside is a fashion and portrait photographer. Born and raised in St. Louis, he left to study fine art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, with a concentration in painting and film. After graduating, and fascinated with the principles of fine art and technology, Thomas applied his painting skills to start a photo retouching company, working alongside some of the world's most celebrated photographers on post-production art direction on major advertising campaigns and editorial.

Today, he takes those skills one step further by turning his attention to behind the camera, capturing on film an intimate connection with all of the subjects he photographs. He contributes to Elle, Details, InStyle, Paper and Nylon.

Thomas Whiteside divides his time between New York and Los Angeles.
